Here at JA we pride ourselves in catering for all tastes and styles, from urban street wear to suave suiting, we’d like to think we have it all. And because of this we’re always approached by such a range of events, magazines, clubs and brands, which give us the opportunity to show off our amazing taste in clothing! So this month it was all about the beach, not just because it’s been un-characteristically hot, but for the annual British Beach Polo Championship at Sandbanks in Bournemouth.
Teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales went down to the beautiful peninsular to complete for the Championship. It’s an incredible event where the crowd are so close they can smell the horses (not sure if that’s good or not), the teams competing in an enclosed arena on the beach front with the sparkling English Channel as their backdrop. To break up the polo there was some professional beach volleyball which is sponsored by Oakley, and to break up all the sport, there’s a fashion show along with a mix of stalls situated along the beach. JA was one of the brands to showcase on the catwalk, where the guys at our Bournemouth store put together a great selection of beach polo appropriate outfits, that got great reviews from the crowd.

We had our own little stall which housed a selection of our brands such as Ralph Lauren, Penfield, Hudson, Paul Smith, Nudie Jeans and Lyle & Scott. It was a super hot and sunny day perfect for relaxing on the beach, having a cheeky drink and doing a spot of shopping. The guys wore a mixture of Ralph Lauren Polo, an obvious choice for such an event, and Oliver Proudlock’s brand Serge Denimes. It was all about the colourful tees and polos, tailored shorts and boat shoes (no flip flops here).

Ollie Proudlock and JA have been working together for awhile, and for this event we joined up to sponsor a VIP area at the event. On the Friday evening Cocoloco held an awesome after party right there on the beach, with DJ sets, drinks and a mix of glamorous people- obviously it was an epic night. The whole weekend was brilliant, helped by the crazy hot weather and beautiful backdrop, everyone who went had a brilliant time.
