Our winter sale is now in full swing… We’ve thought long and hard about some of our favourite brands that are featuring in the sale this season, and there are few which definitely need to be snatched up before it’s too late. There’s no better time of the year than post xmas to treat yourself, why not throw all that Christmas money from your Nan and other family members into a pot for a little shopping spree. Before Christmas it’s all about them, buying gifts for every awkward member of the family and causing you to venture out into the packed high street when you’d rather be sat at home, but then as soon the words Boxing day are uttered it all becomes about you – much better….So here are 8 brands which we feel are gems of the season, pieces that are investments into your stylish future.

1. CANADA GOOSE

Canada Goose is not just for Arctic explorers and ‘adventure types’, even if you’re not really an ‘outdoors’ kind of person the CG jackets are an amazing piece to own. The innovative technology put into their materials make them worth every penny, for example if you want a really warm jacket but don’t want to be mistaken for the Michelin man, the Hybridge Lite jacket has been designed to be super warm but also feather light. This jacket doesn’t need to be worn in the outer reaches of Siberia, it’s perfect for every day wear in sunny old England.

2. YOU MUST CREATE

YMC was new to us this season and it’s bene a pleasure to stock. The simplistic designs which rebel against any trends are wearable and comfortable, and exactly what we needed. The British brand sums up the new age of designers coming out of London, the creativity is less eccentric and more arty which has led to some new styles that everyone is jumping on right now. I’ve had my eye on this shirt all season, I love the colours that stand out against each other in a subtle way and the lovely comfy cotton is a pleasure to wear. This is a great weekend piece….

3. OLIVER SPENCER

Oli Spencer always draws on the military and hunting uniforms for inspiration, creating masculine pieces for the modern man. This jumper answers to the trends of the season with it’s chunky knit and contemporary pattern, the colour is bold and brings a nice shot of colour to a dull outfit.

4. DSQUARED2

A brand we all know and love, it’s one that we always look out for each season and a favourite when it comes to jeans. Dsquared have this talent for creating well fitting denim but also making them look delightfully distressed. Worn by the likes of Michael Buble’ (a gent who knows how to dress), they can be dressed down easily but also have the qualities to smarten up an outfit. The tidy biker jeans are going to satisfy all your denim needs….

 5. CRUYFF CLASSICS

It’s all about fashion trainers this year, with a mix of styles out there from street-wear to luxury sportswear. Cruyff had some great trainers in this season and this little gem brings aspects of both sports and fashion, making it a perfect investment (and if you want a bit more colour, there’s a bolder and brighter colourway also available).

6. STONE ISLAND

The iconic Italian brand is usually associated with outerwear and nice pieces of men’s knitwear, we seem to forget that they always deliver a great range of trousers, jeans and cords. Cords became less of an old man trouser and more of a winter essential sometime last year (whether it was the likes of One Direction wearing them that brought them back to life or just a happy coincidence, I don’t think it really matters…), and these Stone Island-ers in a lovely rich blue are ideal for the colder months to come.

7. BELSTAFF

With David Beckham taking them into a new season, Belstaff are sure to be the brand of the year for 2014. So get a heads start and own a piece from this iconic British brand before the crazy rush. This is a classic biker jacket, a style which never fades so can definitely be called an ‘investment piece’.

8. HUDSON

Every man needs a good pair of leather shoes in their wardrobe, whether it’s a brogue, wing tip or loafer (or all 3), dapper footwear is an essential part of looking good. The Nico buckle shoe makes a nice change from the typical brogue, the monk shoe is slightly less formal and perhaps a bit more of ‘day shoe’, but either way it can easily be styled for whatever your occasion.
