As you may know Swindon was JA’s first store in the south-west and it’s still going strong 35 years later. As our founding store I thought it was about time I had a sit down with our lovely manager Fraser, and find out a bit more about what makes him tick….

Tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m 29 (soon to be 30 but don’t tell anyone) and originally from the mighty Swindon. I have a long-term partner with 2 adorable children aged 4 & 18 months, they keep me very active in my spare time. I also have a huge interest in sports mainly football, cricket & golf which I often go to watch live. Mens Fashion is also a huge part of my life which makes the job a little easier….
What did you want to be when you grew up?
About 6 feet tall……
A professional sportsman was my life ambition either as a footballer or cricketer. Other than that a red arrows pilot.
How long have you been in your role at JA Swindon?
I joined John Anthony in 2002 progressing to management in Dec 2006. Its a role that is much more diverse than its sounds. From personal shopping for my loyal customers to going on buying trips in London with our senior buyer Andy. Luckily I’ve always had fantastic support from my staff. I like to lead from the front and show my staff how hard work pays off in the long term.

All of our staff have their own individual style, how would you describe yours?
Always on that urban tip coupled with those heritage ‘must-haves’. I like to make a real effort on the weekend and bring out the Grensons
What’s your favourite pieces from the SS14 collections so far?
Gourmet footwear for just making things noisy, plus some fantastic over-shirting especially the new ‘San-Quentin’ from Sinnett clothing (worn in image above). Always Nudie Jeans for continuously delivering the best fit & quality in denim
What 5 things in your wardrobe could you not live without?
Nudie Jeans especially the Tight Long John fit
Ralph Lauren chambray shirt – a must have for any gents wardrobe

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Mazatlan, Mexico – it’s where my partner’s mother was born. Its a stunning city on the Pacific coast of Mexico. My ‘mother-in-law’ has a house 200 yards from the most stunning beach where you can relax with a Pacifico (beer brewed in Mazatlan) and watch the world go by. A must visit for anyone…
