The Scottish menswear brand Lyle & Scott are known for their casual style which appeals to all ages, and their classic knitwear that was popularised on the highland fairways. The yellow eagle is a symbol of their heritage, a small badge embroidered onto each piece labelling it ‘Lyle & Scott’. This season they’ve worked on a different, bolder collection through their collaboration with the cycling outfitters, Attaquer.
For those who aren’t familiar with Attaquer, they’re an Australian brand setup in 2012 with the goal of creating something a little more interesting than most cycling getups, blending art, fashion and sport into one concept. Attaquer is the French word for ‘to attack’, so you know this isn’t going to be a quiet, safe and subtle style. Designed by Australian street artists and crafted in Italy, the final products offer comfort, performance and style – a collection of premium cycling clothing that allows you to stand out from the rest of the pack.
So how has this vibrant, energetic cycling brand merged with the Scottish eagle? Well to start with, they made it a lot bigger! Be bold or go home is the feeling that runs through this range, with the classic chest logo doubling in size, a clash of colours and stripes, as well as a few profanities. Check the t-shirt and sweatshirt sleeves and neckline for the Attaquer skull and ‘F**k Yeah’. The limited range is available online and in-stores.
